• The objective of this website was to accelerate the production of the daily market update emails by streamlining the task of aggregating and reviewing market news from news-wires, and distilling the news into a market summary.
• The website also imports and updates a calendar of important economic data, such as rate meetings, payrolls etc and details the Consensus and Actual data for each statistic.
• The website also maintains a database of industry articles relevant to the Clearing and Prime businesses, including notes and summaries.

News aggregation

• The website aggregates news articles by scraping a number of third-party websites and displays articles published in the past 24 hours. The author can select articles of note to include in the daily market updates.
• The ‘news’ sources scraped include:
• FT, Reuters, Economist
• The website stores the history of these articles which can be comprehensively searched as and when required.
